A Meaningful Life

There are quite a few moments in a lifetime when death hits close. It may be passing away of a loved one or an acquaintance or surviving a near death experience.
During the mundane way of things, when we forget or ignore the presence of death, it comes in right into our faces to say an unwelcome hello.
So unprepared and naive we are, that we are horrified with the mere sight of death. But, why the fear? Is it the pain which you have to endure while dying? But there's no guarantee that life will be pain-free. In fact, life is full of challenges.
This fear of death is two-fold: first, the fear of the unknown, i.e. what will happen to me after death? And second, you are under-prepared. Hardly anyone lives life preparing for meeting eventual death. We live life as if we are immortal.
It is so ironical, the human population which worries and plans so much about the future, even plans for retirement, does not plan for death. In fact, we cannot accept death. There is obsession with life, but when it comes to live actually, we take it for granted.
One who is living a meaningful life, lives even after death. There is no fear of death.
Food for thought, is it?
