It is always fun watching BTS of any event, be it a movie, a performance practice or an event preparation. It shows that behind the perfectly flawless outcome is the myriad of slips and misses.

Ever wondered how would blooper of your life's drama be like?

My unsuspecting parents, who were very happy to have a quiet and peace-loving 2-year-old, were in for a shock when they finally solved the mystery of the missing water bottles from the refrigerator. I had just picked up a plastic (luckily not glass) bottle and thrown it out of the balcony (again luckily no one was hurt).

After a deep afternoon nap during winter, 6-year-old me woke up at 6:00 PM. Thinking it was 6:00 AM I brush my teeth and walk over to my mother to give me milk as per morning routine. It was hard for her to convince me, that it was evening and NOT the time for school now.

The birthday party ritual in college. Every time after 10 minutes of initial chaos, as soon as the arrival of warden was sensed, 6-8 girls would hide into extreme silence in the 4x4 feet balcony.

Instead of calling my friend, George, I call my office colleague George on a Saturday to tell him that my friends and I were waiting outside his house. I was lucky, the wrong George didn't pick!

The sudden hole in the sock when you take out your shoes in a family function. The mismatched eyeliner length. The slipping of the milk tumbler to pour the boiling milk on self. Waving to the wrong person and then feeling embarrassed.

The list goes on.

As we grow, we face bigger bloopers. Some are too harsh to handle that moment. But as time passes, we heal and gradually learn to take it lightly.

Life is not perfect, nor is it total imperfection. Sometimes we all make 'sweet mistakes'. These are the pits where we fall but eventually, we don't mind. We enjoy recalling our past selves falling down and acting silly at that time. If we gradually learn to laugh at self in the present, life is going to become awesome.

"If you can laugh at yourself, you are going to be fine. If you allow others to laugh with you, you will be great."

~ Martin Niemoller

On a stressful day like today…

Laughing my heart out,
At my mistakes.

Love,
Shobhana.
